Match Reports 2014-2015

Oxfordshire win the Dawes and Porter leagues!

An exciting day’s bridge saw the county win two out of the three inter-county leagues in our match against Warwick

The A team were 7VPs behind Warwickshire, and needed to win by 52 imps or more.  This looked increasingly unlikely as we lost 2 imps on the first set, the second set was flat, and 40 imps went the wrong way in the third set.  However, solid cards from all pairs in the last set saw a surprising 118 imps come our way, transforming the result into a 15-5 win.

The B team were 11 VPs clear of Warwickshire and kept their noses in front throughout.  They also finished well, winning the match 14-6.

The C team were just 1 VP ahead of Warwickshire, so needed to avoid defeat.  The match was close throughout, but Warwickshire ended up prevailing 7-13.
