Henley Cafe Bridge

The 2015 Cafe Bridge Day was held on Tuesday 22nd April 2015. Click here for the full result.

Once again we were very lucky with the weather and 120 people turned up on Tuesday morning to the Leander Club to enjoy a day of bridge and “café hopping”. The object of the day was to enjoy social bridge in its truest sense and at the same time raise some money for a local charity. In this case The Chiltern Centre in Henley, a resource to support children with disabilities and their families, was nominated, by Joan Bennett, to receive the proceeds. A cheque for £500 has been sent to them. Barbara Snell, Trustee of the Chiltern Centre, was there to welcome all the players back to the Leander Club at the end of the day and to present the prizes.   £500 was donated to The Chiltern Centre for children with learning disabilities.  Please see letter from them showing thier appreciatiation.

The Leander Club, as always, made us very welcome with tea and coffee and at 10.45 people set of for their first playing venue.

Wherever you were playing at lunch time that is where you ate lunch in company with the other players at that venue. We visited three venues that we used last year who again made us very welcome and two new venues, one of which was excellent.

At the end of the day, back to the Leander Club for tea, coffee or wine, and the presentation of prizes to the days winning pairs. I have had many emails saying how much the day was enjoyed so here’s looking forward to next year.

It was really good to see you all and to see you enjoying social bridge out in the community.2014-04-22 16.26.05it2014-04-22 16.25.31y.2014-04-22 16.25.03
